Breath freezes
in still air.
Sunflower fades
in shortened day.
Tree erupts
in golds and reds
Apple crunches
in sweet surrender.
Bonfire crackles
in night sky.
Cinnamon wafts
from mulling cider.
Cashmere caresses
awaiting skin.
Fall assaults
the senses.

Thanks, Boomie! I’ve come to the conclusion that this poetry stuff is addicting! What do you think?
Absolutely
!
Yesterday, I ate a perfectly ripe sweet pear and had one of those “it’s good to be alive” moments.
V,
Aren’t those moments the best? Peter and I went to dinner at some friend’s on Saturday and she made poached Colorado pears with caramel sauce. It was/is good to be alive! A great autumn experience, and NY has really great apples, pears, and grapes. Do you have a farmer’s market in the city that you frequent?
Cathy
When I was taking my photos over the weekend for today’s LA a farmer’s market near Lincoln Center was setting up, but I was on a mission to get my shots in before the streets got crowded, but I’m sure the fruit was excellent. I might return this weekend.
Poached Colorado pears with caramel sauce. That sounds as exciting as good sex!
Yes, pretty close. She poached them with a vanilla bean and fresh lavender…okay I guess it was as exciting.
Is a wonderful feeling to read you poems and Blog, thanks for the sharing !
