It’s for You

Fog on the Plains by Cathy Ulrich

“Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person’s face as you pass on the street: those faces are for you [...] Remember this when you wake up in the morning and think you have nothing.” — Miranda July

Happy Friday, Everyone.

Love,

Cathy

Happy weekend, Brigitte! I really love the quote too. And the pic is the sky I see when I wake up in the morning (usually minus the fog – but with a beautiful prairie below me).

  4. Happy Friday Cathy! Gorgeous photo! Love-Julie

  8. I never heard of Miranda July but what a nice quote to share with us. Have a wonderful weekend, Cathy! The Weeblettes send their love as well.

    • Cathy Ulrich says:

Thanks, Weebs! Enjoy your weekend, too and Leo and Cielo send their love. (I really like Cupcake’s mustache).

      • Madame Weebles says:

(Her mustache really suits her, doesn’t it?)

      • Cathy Ulrich says:

Yes, she has kind of a Charlie Chaplin vibe going on – love it! Leo has lost three pounds on the homemade stew diet, BTW. He looks gorgeous.

      • Madame Weebles says:

Congratulations to Leo, and to you for being such an excellent Kitty Mom! I hope you’ll post more photos of him soon.

  9. That sky’s really for me? Can it be monogrammed?

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend Cathy — and I did love the picture. FYI: I attended a screening of Miranda July’s “Me and You and Everything We Know” & heard her speak at a q&a afterward, but that was seven years ago, so that’s long past the expiration date in my head. What I remember most was my friend behaving badly — arriving late and exploding at an usher in Spanish before switching to English and screaming for me. If there was ever an evening where I wanted to fake I was by myself, that was the one.

    • Cathy Ulrich says:

Yes! What font style would you like?

LIke Weebs, I don’t know anything about her. I found this quote in an ezine that I read and had just taken the photo the day before. It’s the view off my back deck towards the east (west is the Rocky Mountains).

Yeah, I can understand your memory of a badly behaving friend being linked to a particular movie screening. That’s how my brain works, too. How’s the NYFF going? Or is it over?

      • lameadventures says:

I’m partial to Times New Roman. Thanks for asking. You have some back deck! I look out my windows and it looks like the courtyard Jimmy Stewart is watching in “Rear Window”.

The NYFF is going well; seeing a final film today. It might be the next LA since Milton has soaked up The Love from the LA readership like a sponge.

      • Cathy Ulrich says:

I like Times New Roman too. Enjoy the film today. I’ll look forward to the post.
